பலரது பழிசொற்களையும் தாங்கிகொண்டு பல துறைகளில் வெற்றி பெற்றவர்கள் ஏராளம். எல்லோரும் பழித்தபோது அவர்களின் இதயம் முணுமுணுத்த எழுச்சி மந்திரம் என்ன தெரியுமா? என்னால் முடியும் என்பதுதான்.
இத்தாலியின் புகழ்பெற்ற சிற்பி அகஸ்டினோ அன்டானியோ. ஒரு பெரிய சலவைக் கல்லில் சிற்பம் செதுக்க முயன்றார். முடியவில்லை. இந்தக் கல்லில் எவராலும் சிற்பம் செதுக்க முடியாது என்று நிராகரித்தார்.
புகழ்ப்பெற்ற இத்தாலிய சிற்பிகள் பலரும் முயன்று பார்த்தனர். முடியவில்லை. என்னால் முடியும் என்று உற்சாகத்தோடு உளியை எடுத்தார் மைக்கல் ஆஞ்சலோ. அவரது தலைசிறந்த சிற்பம் தாவீத் அப்படித்தான் உருவாகி உலகப் புகழ் பெற்றது.
மேற்கிந்தியாவுக்கு குறுக்குப் பாதை கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியும் என்ற கொளம்பஸின் கருத்தை ஸ்பெயின் நாட்டு நபுணர்கள் சாத்தியமில்லை என்றார்கள். சிந்தித்ததை சாதித்துக் காட்டினார்.
